The Stafford Knot.

 

It was and sometimes still is known as the `Old Bank` founded by

George Rolph the partners were Edward Harwood, John Hatcher

and Joseph Sams and the name had been changed to Harwood, Hatcher and Company.

In 1891 they Amalgamated with Prescott, Dimsdale, Cave, Tugwell and Co., Limited.

In 1903 Prescott`s Bank Limited amalgamated with the Union of London and Smith`s

Bank which subsequently amalgamated with the `National Provincial Bank Limited`.

The present building was erected about 1860 on the site of the `White Hart`.
